Last updated: September 2026 — curated by LUCKI DECO, custom bedding and blanket specialists shipping across the UK and Europe.
Short answer: We print 10 Route 66 designs, 5 throw blankets and 5 matching duvet cover sets, built from classic Americana: the Route 66 shield, the US flag, road maps, motorcycles, diners and vintage cars. Unlike our character ranges, these are bought as home décor rather than fan gifts, so the guide below suggests which design suits which room. Throws are polyester flannel fleece in five sizes, 100×130cm to 200×230cm, at £29.99 to £59.99. Duvet sets include a cover and two pillowcases in Single, Double, King and Super King, from £36.99 to £59.99. Each design is printed to order in 4K dye sublimation, checked, and dispatched within 3–5 business days to the UK and all 27 EU countries, and because every design exists in both formats, a throw and a bed set can be matched.
Route 66 bedding is bought for a completely different reason from the rest of our range. Nobody is buying it because they are a fan of something. They are decorating — a guest room, a garage conversion, a teenage boy’s bedroom, a den behind a classic car. It sits closer to a vintage travel poster than to character merchandise, and it should be chosen the same way you would choose one.
This guide covers the ten Americana designs we print, which rooms each suits, and sizing.

The Five Route 66 Designs
We print five artworks, each available as both a throw blanket and a duvet cover set. They differ more in mood than in subject.
Stars and Stripes over the shield — The US flag draped across a weathered timber wall with the Route 66 shield beneath it. The most photographic of the five and the boldest. Strong greys and reds. Best in a room with plain walls where it can be the only pattern, and by far the most popular of the range.
Feel the Freedom winged badge — Teal and cream, hand-lettered typography, wings either side of the shield. This is the most graphic and the most restrained piece we print in this range. It reads as vintage signage rather than as a photograph, and the teal makes it the easiest to place — it works against white, cream, grey and pale green walls alike. If you want Americana without the flag, this is the one.
Motorcycle on the map — A chromed cruiser laid over a sepia road map with the route traced in red through Amarillo, Albuquerque and Santa Fe. Warm browns and creams throughout. The most masculine of the five and the natural choice for a garage, workshop or den.
Classic car and vintage signage — A blue fifties sedan surrounded by motel, diner and gas-station signs, layered over a map background. The busiest composition of the five and the most nostalgic. Best on a larger bed where the detail has room to read, and best in a room with wooden furniture.
California diner collage — Palm trees, a red convertible, the Golden Gate, a diner front and a grizzly bear, in warm sand and terracotta tones. The brightest and the most cheerful. This is the one to pick for a child or teenager’s room, where the flag and motorcycle designs would feel too adult.
Choosing by Room, Not by Subject
Because this is decor rather than fandom, the room decides the design more than personal taste does.
Guest bedroom — The winged Freedom badge. Neutral enough not to impose a strong personality on a room other people sleep in, but characterful enough not to be bland.
Garage, workshop or den — The motorcycle map or the classic car. Warm tones sit well against tools, wood and metal, and both designs assume a room where the theme is already established.
Teenager’s room — The California diner collage, or the flag if the room is otherwise plain. Both carry enough colour to hold their own against posters and clutter.
A room that already has a lot going on — The Freedom badge again. It has the most negative space of the five, which is what you want when the walls are busy.
Route 66 Throw Blanket vs Duvet Cover Set
| Throw Blanket | Duvet Cover Set | |
|---|---|---|
| Best for | Sofa, car-themed den, bed topper | The whole bed |
| What you get | One printed fleece throw | Duvet cover plus two pillowcases |
| Sizes | 100×130cm to 200×230cm | UK Single to Super King |
| Range | All 5 designs | All 5 designs |
| Price from | £36.99 | £36.99 |
This is the only range we print where every artwork is available in both formats, so you can choose the design first and the format second without compromise.
Bed Sizes — UK and Continental Europe
Duvet covers are cut to British and continental European sizes: Single 135×200cm, Single 140×200cm, Double 200×200cm, King 220×240cm and Super King 260×220cm — five sizes in total, so check which Single matches your inner. Throws run 100×130cm through 200×230cm.
This matters more with Americana designs than with most, because the obvious places to buy them are US sellers. A US Full is roughly 10cm narrower than a European double and a US Queen does not match a European king, so an American Route 66 duvet cover will sit badly on a European inner. Always compare the centimetre measurements rather than the size name.
Print Quality — Photographic Detail on Fabric
Three of the five designs are photographic rather than illustrated, and photographic printing on fabric is where cheap production shows most obviously. Chrome, weathered timber and aged paper all depend on fine tonal gradation; a low-resolution transfer print flattens them into blocks and the result looks like a photocopy.
We print with 4K sublimation onto 260 GSM microfibre. The dye bonds inside the polyester fibre rather than sitting on the surface, so tonal transitions stay smooth and the fabric keeps its softness rather than developing a stiff printed patch. There is no surface layer to crack or peel, and the print survives washing at 30°C.
Nothing here is held in stock. Production starts as soon as your order is placed, each piece is quality-checked before it is packed, and dispatch follows in around three business days.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Route 66 bedding licensed?
Route 66 signage, the US flag and vintage roadside imagery are public domain Americana rather than a licensed property. These are original compositions printed to order by LUCKI DECO.
Which Route 66 designs are available?
Five artworks — the flag and shield, the Feel the Freedom winged badge, the motorcycle map, the classic car and signage collage, and the California diner scene. Each is available as both a throw and a duvet cover set.
Is Route 66 bedding suitable for a child’s room?
Yes. The California diner design is the brightest and most child-friendly; the flag and motorcycle designs suit older children and adults better. The fabric is hypoallergenic 260 GSM microfibre and machine washable at 30°C.
What size duvet cover do I need?
Match the existing duvet inner. There are five sizes: Single 135×200cm, Single 140×200cm, Double 200×200cm, King 220×240cm and Super King 260×220cm. Do not rely on US size names.
How long does delivery take?
Because every item is made for your order rather than picked off a shelf, there is a short production window. Printing starts as soon as the order comes in, each piece is quality-checked before packing, and dispatch follows in around three business days. Standard delivery to the UK, Germany, France, Spain and Italy is roughly ten business days from order.
